Joseph Randle: 'DeMarco Murray left yards on the field'

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle believes that DeMarco Murray didn't get the most out of his opportunities as the club's lead back last season.

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle believes that former teammate DeMarco Murray left a lot of yards on the field last season despite having the best year of his career.

Murray led the NFL in rushing yards in the 2014 campaign as he ran for 1,845 yards along with 13 touchdowns to guide the Cowboys to the playoffs.

However, the NFC East side opted against giving Murray a lucrative deal and he signed with their rivals the Philadelphia Eagles in the off-season.

After watching Murray from the sidelines last season, Randle is confident that he can have the same success because he doesn't believe the 27-year-old made the most out of his opportunities.

Randle told reporters: "He had a good year last year, and I got to sit back and watch a lot and I felt like there was a lot of meat left on the bone.

"I'm going to try to go out there and grind as hard as I can and see which role I end up in."

Randle rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns last season.
