A final-quarter touchdown from Brandon Marshall provided the Chicago Bears with a three-point victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL, with the scores finishing 24-21.
Martellus Bennett opened the scoring for the Bears when he got sight of quarterback Jay Cutler's eight-yard pass for a touchdown, allowing placekicker Robbie Gould to kick for the extra point and put his team 7-0 ahead.
Heading into the final minutes of the first quarter, the Bengals hit back with a touchdown of their own as AJ Green completed a two-yard pass from quarterback Andrew Dalton, before Mike Nugent followed up with the kick to tie the scores at 7-7.
Nugent's side went on to make further gains as another touchdown from Green, following a 45-yard pass from Dalton, put them in the lead.
However, nearing the end of the second quarter, the Bears hit back with a 58-yard field goal from Gould to leave the scores at 14-10.
Following the break, the Bengals increased their lead with a touchdown from BenJarvus Green in the third quarter, although the Bears immediately hit back as Matt Forte produced a yard run, allowing Gould to kick again and put the scores at 21-17.
The Bears took the initiative in a tense final quarter when Marshall took hold of a 19-yard pass from Cutler to put his side in the lead, and that's how things remained as the scores ended 24-21 in favour of the Bears.
