The Chicago Bears have reportedly turned down a fifth-year option on Shea McClellin's contract.
The 25-year-old joined the Bears in 2012 as the club's top selection in the NFL Draft, but he struggled in his initial position of defensive end and switched to linebacker last year.
However, he has failed to make a positive impact there either and the club have taken the decision to not use the fifth-year option, which could make McClellin a free agent next year if the Bears do not offer him a new deal.
McClellin has made 7.5 career sacks.
