Jay Cutler has said that he will look to use the last year of his contract with the Chicago Bears to earn a big contract.
Quarterbacks elsewhere in the league have signed deals in excess of $100m (£65.5m) this off-season, with the Baltimore Ravens' Joe Flacco becoming the highest-paid player in NFL history.
The Bears quarterback told ESPN Chicago: "You've got to win games to earn those contracts. There are some big numbers being thrown out there. You can't get ahead of yourself.
"I'm in my last year obviously. I'm sure everyone knows that. So we'll play it out and see how it goes.
"Every year, you put pressure on yourself. Every team in the NFL is preparing to win the Super Bowl. We're doing the same thing."
Cutler joined the Bears on a five-year contract in 2009, having started his NFL career with the Denver Broncos.
