Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams has admitted that he is content taking fewer carries as long as his side are winning games.
Williams has mustered 610 yards on the ground this season on 151 attempts at an average of four yards a carry, which is down on his numbers from previous years.
The 30-year-old told the Charlotte Observer: "That is the difference – as long as we're winning. And I've always said that.
"But when we're not winning, and we're not doing some of the things that I feel like can help us win, then there's an issue."
The Panthers are 9-3 in their season and face a major showdown in the NFC South with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
