Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone has operation to remove cancerous mole

Doug Marrone says that the recent extraction of a cancerous mole will have no effect on his ability to coach the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone has had a mole removed, following fears that it was cancerous.

Marrone made the announcement via a statement released by the Bills, adding that it will not have any effect on him doing his job during the off-season and beyond.

The 49-year-old revealed that the mole was discovered during a recent visit to the doctor and that the only follow-up requirement is to have his moles checked every three months.

He said: "That's basically the end of the story. The recent extraction procedure will have no effect on my ability to coach the team moving forward."

Bills owner and founder Ralph Wilson passed away last month at the age of 95.
