Buffalo Bills release Alan Branch after arrest

The Buffalo Bills cut defensive end Alan Branch following his arrest for driving while impaired on the day of their pre-season game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Buffalo Bills have released defensive end Alan Branch following his arrest for driving while impaired.

The 29-year-old signed for the Bills last season and was a regular starter for Doug Marrone's side during the 2013 campaign.

Branch was rewarded with a contract extension, but the club have cut the veteran following his arrest on Saturday just hours before their pre-season clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The defensive end recorded 39 tackles in 16 games for the Bills last season.
