Robert Woods and Scott Chandler both touched down to give Buffalo Bills a 14-3 half-time lead over New York Jets at the Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Doug Marrone's side moved ahead 10 minutes into the opening quarter, with Woods catching a Kyle Orton pass to establish the lead.
Nick Folk then managed to reduce the seven-point deficit with a 27-yard field goal shortly toward the end of the first quarter.
The Jets struggled to get quarterback Michael Vick into the clash, with Mario Williams sacking him on two occasions as the 34-year-old completed six of his 15 passes in the first half.
In contrast, Orton converted 17 of his 22 passes, with the last of that haul proving particularly rewarding, as the 32-year-old flung a touchdown pass to find Chandler on the stroke of half time.
