The Carolina Panthers have taken a 14-10 lead into the halfway stage of their NFC South clash with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Panthers went ahead with 6:18 left in the opening quarter when Mike Tolbert burrowed his way over the line from four yards out.
The Falcons thought that they had pulled a touchdown back right at the start of the second quarter when Steven Jackson went over from two yards, but the score was nullified for a penalty and the visitors were forced to make do with a field goal.
The hosts extended their advantage towards the end of the half when Cam Newton peeled off to the right before throwing to Greg Olsen, who had been left wide open on the edge of the endzone.
Atlanta ended the half on a high, however, as veteran Tony Gonzalez collected a pass from Matt Ryan in the end zone for a 17-yard touchdown with two minutes left on the clock.
