Wales prop Adam Jones has admitted that he wants to achieve 100 caps for his country before he retires from rugby.

The 31-year-old goes into the three-Test series with Australia currently on 80 appearances for his home nation.

Front-row colleague Gethin Jenkins is on 92 caps whereas Flanker Martyn Williams retired on 100 caps following his appearance as a replacement in Wales's 30-21 win over the Barbarians last weekend and Jones is keen to join the 100 club.

"One hundred [is the target]. I'd like to get there and that's my one target left I think," Jones said.

Jones also says that once he achieves his target he will hang up his boots and pave the way for someone else to have the chance to reach 100 caps. He admitted that he'd love that player to be former Ospreys teammate Craig Mitchell.

"I'm a big fan of Craig Mitchell. I was disappointed when he left here [the Ospreys]," Jones added. "He saw it as the time he had to leave.

"He's an excellent player and he's pushing me pretty hard and it's a case of keeping ahead of him.

"I'm a big fan of his and hopefully if I can get to 100 caps I'll pass the baton on to him and I'll be quite happy to do that."

Stephen Jones is Wales's record cap-holder with 104 while Gareth Thomas also reached 100 games for his country.
