Danny Cipriani available for World Cup selection as bail is reset

England head coach Stuart Lancaster will have fly-half Danny Cipriani available for the Rugby World Cup after his bail date was extended.

England fly-half Danny Cipriani will be available for selection for this year's Rugby World Cup after a decision to determine whether he should face a drink-drive charge was put back to late autumn.

The Sale Sharks star was arrested in June when his car was involved in an accident just hours after he impressed for England against the Barbarians at Twickenham.

The 27-year-old was breathalysed at a Fulham police station and released on bail until early August. However, this date has been put back until mid-November taking away a potential headache for the England selectors.

Head coach Stuart Lancaster has overlooked centre Manu Tuilagi and hooker Dylan Hartley for the tournament due to ill-discipline on and off the pitch in recent months.

Cipriani is currently training with the squad ahead of the tournament.
