Australia stun South Africa in Perth

Australia record their first win of this year's Rugby Championship with a last-gasp victory over South Africa.

Australia have won their first match of this year's Rugby Championship with a dramatic 24-23 victory over South Africa in Perth.

The hosts got off to a blistering start as Israel Folau touched down with just two minutes on the clock, but Morne Steyn's penalty and a Cornal Hendricks try put South Africa 8-5 up on 13 minutes.

An entertaining opening half ended with Steyn and Bernard Foley sharing four penalties between them, though it was the visitors who took a 14-11 lead heading into the second period.

Foley's third penalty of the contest got Australia level soon after the restart, only for a further nine points from the boot of Steyn to give South Africa a 23-14 advantage with 20 minutes remaining.

Another penalty from Foley on 69 minutes put pressure on the away side, who had Bryan Habana sent to the sin bin late on, and the Aussies snatched the victory in the final moments as Rob Horne's try was converted by Foley.
