Sunnyhillboy is withdrawn from this afternoon's Cheltenham Gold Cup, leaving Tony McCoy free to ride Sir Des Champs.

Sunnyhillboy has been declared a non-runner for this afternoon's Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained horse has been forced to withdraw from the race due to a respiratory problem.

Tony McCoy was due to ride Sunnyhillboy in the 3.20pm race today, but reports have claimed that the jockey could lead Sir Des Champs following the injury to Davy Russell, according to Sky Sports News.

Sir Des Champs has been tipped to come out on top from the 11-strong field this afternoon.
