James Tomkins's assault trial has been delayed after police and prosecutors lost CCTV footage of the alleged incident.
The West Ham United defender, who has denied charges of assaulting a police constable, being drunk and disorderly and obstructing a police officer, was due to appear before Basildon Magistrates' Court yesterday.
However, the trial had to be adjourned because footage of the incident had gone missing after it was handed over to the police.
The prosecutors have since confirmed that the recording has been found, but that it was discovered too late for the hearing to take place yesterday.
The incident occurred outside the Sugar Hut nightclub in Brentford on December 21.
