Mother of Norwich City fan accidentally cooks her son's 16 match tickets

The mother of a Norwich City fan accidentally burns 16 of her son's match tickets for the upcoming clash against Brighton by cooking them with a chicken.

The mother of a Norwich City fan accidentally ruined 16 of her son's tickets for the upcoming Brighton & Hove Albion match after cooking them alongside a chicken.

Without realising, Mikey Knights's mum grabbed the envelope containing the match tickets and placed them in the oven with a chicken she intended to roast.

Upon arriving for dinner with his mother, Knights was told the bad news about his burnt tickets, which were worth £500.

"There were the tickets, roasting away nicely," Knights told BBC Radio Norfolk's football fanzine The Scrimmage. "I thought it was a wind-up at first, but then I opened the envelope and the 16 tickets were inside, all black."

After Knights's mother returned the tickets to Norwich, the Championship club came to an agreement with Brighton to replace them for the April 3 fixture.
