Witness in Oscar Pistorius murder trial heard "terrified screaming"

A witness in the Oscar Pistorius trial tells the court that she heard "terrified, terrified screaming" on the morning that the Paralympian shot dead his girlfriend.

A witness in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial has told the High Court in Pretoria that she heard "terrified, terrified screaming" on the morning that the Paralympian shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Anette Stipp took to the witness stand on day 14 of the trial and told the court that she was woken by screams in the early hours of Valentine's Day last year.

According to CNN, Mrs Stipp, whose husband Dr. Johan Stipp testified earlier in the trial, said: "It sounds to me as if there's a family murder, why else would she scream like that?"

She went on to testify that she heard a woman and man screaming after three shots were fired, and then heard a further three shots before the screaming ceased.

Pistorius denies murder by maintaining that he mistook the South African model for an intruder when he fired the gunshots.
