AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is sentenced to seven years in jail for sleeping with a 17-year-old prostitute.

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has been sentenced to seven years in prison after he was found guilty of sleeping with an underage prostitute.

The 76-year-old illegally paid Karima El Mahroug for sex at a 'bunga bunga' party when she was 17 years old, a Milan court has heard.

Italian law allows Berlusconi to lodge two appeals, which means that the former Italian prime minister can remain away from prison for the time being, according to the Daily Star.

Berlusconi has also been handed a lifetime ban from politics.
