Sauber principal Monisha Kaltenborn has conceded that staff at the Swiss constructor are frustrated at their performance so far in 2014.
The team currently lie in 10th place in the rankings, behind long-time backmarkers Marussia who have scored two points thanks to Jules Bianchi's ninth-place finish in Monaco.
However, Kaltenborn believes that getting points on the board before the end of the season will do more than improve Sauber's finances.
She told Crash.net: "First of all from a morale perspective for the team, the frustration would go, which is definitely there and it would give a certain boost to the team. Financially of course it helps, one should not just consider a few million not being money; it's a lot of money.
"The higher you go the more significant these positions get, but yes it would be a positive sign towards the team and only help us go more in a positive direction."
Sauber's next opportunity to score points will be at the United States Grand Prix in Austin next month.
