Formula 1 pundit and former team owner Eddie Jordan has claimed that Volkswagen are about to complete a takeover of Red Bull.
After a poor season, which has seen the team well off the pace of Mercedes, Red Bull and engine supplier Renault are widely expected to end their relationship.
Jordan has told BBC Sport that a deal is close to completion, which would see VW buy out the four-time constructors' champions and run their own engine, with Red Bull to continue as a key sponsor.
The pundit has suggested that a Volkswagen engine will not run in F1 until 2018, with the Milton Keynes outfit expected to use Ferrari power units in the interim.
VW owns several luxury car brands, including Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Bentley and Porsche.
