The FIA has announced that new radio rules limiting communication between engineers and drivers during races have been postponed until the next Formula 1 season in 2015.
The rule states that F1 teams will not be allowed to give advice to their drivers or inform them about the performance of their car while they are competing.
However, just hours before the first practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix, the sport's governing body has revealed that the system will not be implemented until next season in order for teams to get used to it.
The only rule that will come into immediate effect is engineers being prohibited from giving drivers advice about their own performance during the race.
A statement from the FIA said: "Messages concerning a driver's own performance will not be allowed, but the expected ban on those relating to car performance will now be postponed until 2015 to give teams more time to prepare."
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone publicly backed the introduction of a radio ban this week.
