Kevin Magnussen: 'I will race again in 2016'

Reserve driver Kevin Magnussen tells McLaren that he won't accept a season without racing in 2016.

McLaren reserve driver Kevin Magnussen has warned the team that he won't accept a season without racing next year.

The Dane drove for the team in 2014 but was replaced by Fernando Alonso this year, and he has told McLaren that if he doesn't drive for them in 2016, he will be forced to look elsewhere.

He told Autosport: "There will not be one more year without racing - no way in hell. I'll stay for one year like this and then hopefully something will happen, and if not you'll have to move on and do something else.

"I'm not saying I definitely won't be here as reserve driver. If I don't get a drive then I might do something else and if I can be reserve driver as well then that'll be good.

"But I hope that's not going to be it - I hope to be back in Formula 1 next year."

Magnussen scored 55 points in his debut campaign.
