McLaren engine supplier Honda has reportedly blocked Fernando Alonso's ambitions to drive in Le Mans 24 Hours this year.
While the Spaniard's future was undecided towards the end of the 2014 season, some reports had suggested that the former Ferrari man was eyeing a possible debut in the world-famous endurance race.
Auto Motor und Sport claims that Alonso still wanted to race at Le Mans as he joined McLaren and had hoped to secure a joint deal before Honda stepped in "at the last second".
It is believed that any dual agreement would have seen the two-time world champion race alongside Nico Hulkenberg for Porsche in the event.
The German sports car team are then believed to have turned to out-of-contract former Sauber driver Adrian Sutil, but contractual issues have reportedly scuppered his chances of racing.
