Honda will be allowed to develop its new Formula 1 engines during the 2015 season after the FIA relaxed its rules.
The Japanese manufacturer appeared to be at a disadvantage against rival suppliers after being told that they would not be permitted to make improvements beyond the end of February.
Honda expressed their unhappiness with the decision, but following talks with the FIA in Paris this week, the engine supplier will now be able to develop their units as much as the Renault, Ferrari and Mercedes.
The rule change means that upgrades can be introduced depending on the average number of 'tokens' used by each engine producer prior to the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in mid-March.
McLaren will team up with Honda for the first time in 23 years after ending their lengthy association with Mercedes last year.
