Malaysian Grand Prix winner Sebastian Vettel has claimed that Ferrari beat Mercedes "fair and square" at Sepang today.
Four-time world champion Vettel recorded his first victory since leaving Red Bull by edging out the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in the second race of the season.
It was Vettel's first Grand Prix triumph since the 2013 season, after he went winless in his final year with Red Bull.
Speaking on the podium after the trophy presentation, the German said: "It's been a while I've not been on the top step, and my first time with Scuderia Ferrari - I'm speechless!
"There was a big change over the winter, and the welcome the team gave me when I arrived was fantastic. I've only done two races, but I'm so proud of today.
"We beat them [Mercedes] fair and square, I guess that's why it's a bit emotional. Today was a very, very special day, and will remain a part of me. Thank you to the team - grazie Italia!"
By winning today, Vettel becomes the only man with four Malaysian Grand Prix victories to his name.
