Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo reportedly wants to sign Salomon Rondon as a short-term replacement for the injured Raul Jimenez.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Dalian Professional's Salomon Rondon as an ideal January signing with Raul Jimenez sidelined.

Jimenez spent time in hospital following his sickening clash of heads with David Luiz, but the striker made an appearance at Wolves' training complex in the week after being discharged.

However, Jimenez - who suffered a fractured skull in the collision with the Arsenal defender - will remain sidelined for the foreseeable future, and Wolves have supposedly found a replacement for the Mexican forward while he recovers.

According to The Sun, Nuno Espirito Santo believes that Dalian Pro striker Rondon could be the answer in the short-term, with the Venezuela international already Premier League-proven following his time with West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United.

Rondon followed former Magpies manager Rafael Benitez to Dalian last year, and the 31-year-old banked nine goals and four assists for the Chinese Super League side in the 2020 season.

Rondon is contracted to Dalian until the summer of 2022.
