Bjorn Sigurdarson wants centre-forward chance

Icelander Bjorn Sigurdarson is keen to continue playing as a centre-forward for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bjorn Sigurdarson has revealed that he would like the chance to play up front for Wolverhampton Wanderers on a regular basis.

The 22-year-old, who scored during last Friday's 2-1 win over Crawley Town, can either play as a striker or on either wing.

However, having played through the middle last time out, the Iceland international is hopeful that he did enough to keep his place.

"I hope I'll get to start more games, but every player is hoping for that. I spoke to the manager a few days ago, and he said he knows I can play wide and as a centre-forward, and we're going to find the best place for you," Sigurdarson is quoted as saying by the Express & Star.

"I got to start as centre-forward, which is my favourite position, and I scored a goal so I enjoyed it. I would prefer to play there, to be honest.

"We have great strikers though, so it's going to be tough to get that spot in the team. Griffiths and Kevin Doyle are both fantastic players and I would like to get the chance to play with both of them. It would be ideal if we could play three up front."

The attacker joined Wolves from Lillestrom last summer.
