Manchester City edge out West Bromwich Albion

Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure find the net in Manchester City's 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester City put three past West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns this evening during one of their most convincing away performances of the season.

The Sky Blues started brightly, taking the lead inside 10 minutes when in-form striker Sergio Aguero capped off a neat team move by drilling home from inside the box.

City bagged their second in the 24th minute through Yaya Toure, who guided in a cross from Aleksandar Kolarov following good build-up play by Samir Nasri.

Manuel Pellegrini's side could have been four or five goals to the good come half time, with Dzeko, Aguero and Fernandinho all missing chances before the break.

The match was a more even affair in the second period, but City killed off any hopes of a West Brom fightback in the 74th minute when Toure added his second from the penalty spot.

It was a convincing away performance from City, but they were denied a clean sheet five minutes before time when Costel Pantilimon spilled the ball into his own net to hand the Baggies a late consolation.

Victor Anichibe added a second for West Brom deep into stoppage time, but the final scoreline of 3-2 flattered the hosts, who were second best for much of the duration.
