Robert Earnshaw issues warning to Wales boss Chris Coleman

Robert Earnshaw warns Wales boss Chris Coleman that he will fail if he does not guide the team to the finals of Euro 2016.

Robert Earnshaw has warned Wales manager Chris Coleman that anything other than securing qualification for Euro 2016 will be a failure.

Coleman has agreed to stay on as manager after signing a new two-year deal on Thursday.

Toronto FC striker Earnshaw believes that Coleman will have no excuses if he fails to lead the Dragons to the finals of the tournament in France.

"We need to make two or three steps up now. The results have not been good enough. The last three years everybody had the belief in the squad that in 2014 we would be at that World Cup," Earnshaw told talkSPORT.

"I hope he can bring the best out of the guys that are there because we have got such a great squad and good players to pick from. We missed one chance of getting to the World Cup and they don't come round that often. In a football career you don't get a lot of chances to do something great and when they come about you have to capitalise on them.

"We have got another chance with the next qualifiers and we have to take it with both hands. This is our chance."

Earnshaw has scored 16 goals in 58 appearances for Wales.
