Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore pens a new two-and-a-half-year deal at the club following his appointment in March 2012.

Tranmere Rovers have announced that manager Ronnie Moore has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2015.

The 59-year-old, who returned to the helm of Prenton Park in March last year, has said that the Superwhites' strong start to the season prompted him to put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half-year contract.

"I'm really pleased to have signed the new contract with the club," Moore told the club's official website.

"We've had a great start to the season and I have to thank my coaching staff and the players for all their hard work they've put in so far. I know they'll continue doing it until the end of the season.

"We've got a great squad of players here who are all pushing in the right direction. With the same level of effort and determination, plus a bit of luck, hopefully it will be a successful season for us."

Chairman Peter Johnson expressed his delight at Moore's commitment to the club.

"I'm delighted Ronnie and his coaching staff have extended their contracts with the club," he said. "Ronnie did a fantastic job at the end of last season and has done an even better job this season.

"It has been a really exciting season so far and hopefully we're halfway towards achieving something very special."

Tranmere currently top the League One table with 56 points.
