Jefferson Montero: 'We have to end bad run against Tottenham Hotspur'

Swansea City midfielder Jefferson Montero is adamant that his side have to end their poor run of form against Tottenham Hotspur at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City midfielder Jefferson Montero has insisted that his side are more than capable of ending their poor run of form against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Swans have failed to beat Spurs in eight attempts since winning promotion to the Premier League in 2011, losing their last seven matches against the North London side.

However, Montero is adamant that his side have the quality to end their losing run against Tottenham and get back to form in the top flight.

He told the club's official website: "We know how difficult it is going to be. When I arrived people said that Swansea had never won at Old Trafford in the league, but we did that in the first match last season.

"Nothing is impossible and we'll try to do our best. I'm sure the players who are picked are going to give everything on the field on Sunday. I think we don't have to worry that we've not won in the last few games. We've got great players and these periods in football just happen. Look at Chelsea, they started badly and are getting better.

"Last season something similar happened to us and we finished among the top eight in the league. This is just the beginning and we're going to get better. Last season we finished in eighth place, but now the aim is to finish higher and we hope with hard work every day and winning matches we'll move up again."

Swansea are 11th in the Premier League ahead of their clash at the Liberty Stadium.
