Tottenham Hotspur reportedly have no plans to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly have no plans to part ways with midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the summer transfer window.

The Denmark international has been an ever-present in the Lilywhites midfield since joining for a £14.9m fee from Southampton in the summer of 2020.

Hojbjerg - a Euro 2020 semi-finalist with Denmark - has already made 101 appearances for Tottenham over the past two seasons, contributing five goals and nine assists.

The 26-year-old also formed an effective partnership with Rodrigo Bentancur in the Lilywhites midfield during the second half of the 2021-22 season and started 36 Premier League games - completing 34 of them.

However, competition in Spurs' midfield will ramp up with the arrival of Yves Bissouma, while Oliver Skipp's return from groin surgery will add to Antonio Conte's selection dilemma.

Hojbjerg has been linked with a move elsewhere ahead of the 2022-23 season, but he still has three years left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to football.london, Spurs also have no intention of selling the former Bayern Munich man in the coming weeks after he played an instrumental role in the club's Champions League return.

The report adds that Hojbjerg forms a part of the 'leadership group' in North London and is a key voice in the dressing room, which has led to him garnering plenty of respect from his teammates.

Prior to joining Southampton for the 2015-16 season, Hojbjerg won four Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokals and a Club World Cup with Bayern Munich, and he is seemingly set to fight for his place in Spurs' midfield next season.

However, Harry Winks will be pushed further down the pecking order by Bissouma's arrival, and the Englishman is expected to head for the exit door in the coming weeks.

Everton and Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Winks, who would supposedly command a £25m fee to leave Tottenham in the current window.

Spurs' midfield acquisitions may not end with the signing of Bissouma, as the Lilywhites are also said to be keen on bringing Christian Eriksen back to the club.

The 30-year-old - who also worked alongside Conte at Inter Milan - is out of contract at the end of the month after providing one goal and four assists in 11 Premier League outings for Brentford last term.

However, Spurs are yet to follow up their interest in Eriksen, who is also on the radar of Manchester United as he prepares to make a decision over his next career move.
