Tottenham Hotspur confirm that Nile John and Matthew Craig have signed new deals with the club until the summers of 2025 and 2026 respectively.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that highly-rated academy products Nile John and Matthew Craig have penned new deals with the Lilywhites.

John has committed his future to the club until the end of the 2024-25 season, while fellow midfielder Craig has extended his contract by a further year until 2026.

John has been a part of Spurs' academy setup since the age of seven, and the 2003-born lynchpin has since made two senior appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions.

Jose Mourinho handed John his debut in February 2021, bringing him off the bench for the final nine minutes of a 4-0 Europa League playoff round win over Wolfsberger AC.

John made his first start for the North London club six months later, playing 45 minutes of their 1-0 loss to Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa League qualifying rounds under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having hit seven goals and three assists in the first half of the 2021-22 Premier League 2, the 20-year-old was subsequently loaned out to Charlton Athletic in January 2022, but he did not play a single minute for the Addicks.

Since returning to the English capital, the versatile John continued his development with the Under-21s in 2022-23, hitting three goals in 28 appearances across all tournaments, and he has earned seven caps for England's Under-19s.

Meanwhile, Craig - a former member of Watford's youth setup - prolongs his stay in North London after making his Premier League debut on the final day of the 2022-23 season, playing 13 minutes off the bench in their 4-1 thrashing of Leeds United.

The 20-year-old also made the bench on two occasions in the 2021-22 Europa Conference League, and he contributed five assists from 32 games at youth level during the most recent campaign.

Craig set up all five of those goals in the Premier League 2 and was deployed in a variety of positions, playing as a central midfielder, left-back, right-back and centre-back for the Under-21s.

The Scotland Under-21 international also captained Spurs' Under-19s on four occasions in their UEFA Youth League group stage, although he missed their final two fixtures after seeing red against Eintracht Frankfurt.
