Claudio Ranieri praises Leicester City players after Tottenham Hotspur draw

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri praises his player's spirit after securing a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has praised his player's spirit after securing a draw with Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

Dele Alli gave Spurs the lead in the 81st minute but a Riyad Mahrez strike 90 seconds later earned City a point.

"Tottenham kept possession of the ball but we created the same chances and 1-1 is the right result," Ranieri told BBC Sport.

"I am happy, My players have a fantastic spirit. It was an outstanding goal and Mahrez is a very good player. It is important to maintain our place in the Premier League. Seven points, 33 less, that is important for us.

"Skill makes the difference and Mahrez has very, very good skill."

Leicester's next Premier League fixture is away to recently-promoted Bournemouth on August 29.
