Thierry Henry: 'Harry Kane has more to prove'

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry warns Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane that he still has to prove he is not a one-season wonder.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has stated that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane still has to prove that he is not a one-season wonder.

The 21-year-old scored on his England debut against Lithuania on Friday evening, after netting 29 goals for Spurs in all competitions so far this season.

Henry, who scored 175 Premier League goals for the Gunners, has warned Kane that he must prove that has the longevity to stay at the very top.

"Kane scored just over a minute into his England debut and is enjoying a terrific season for Tottenham but this is still only the start of his journey," the Frenchman wrote in his column for The Sun.

"I am not having a go at Kane but it is not how you start, it is how you last an international career.

"To play well for six months or a season in football is nothing. To do so for over a decade like Rooney requires something extraordinary."

England boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Kane will make his first start for the Three Lions in tonight's friendly against Italy.
