Blaise Matuidi scores last-minute equaliser against Saint-Etienne

Blaise Matuidi scored a last-minute equaliser against his former club to earn Paris Saint-Germain a 2-2 draw against 10-man Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 this evening.

The home side looked dangerous from the off as Benjamin Corgnet dispossessed Thiago Motta, but his shot went wide of the far post.

Saint-Etienne then took the lead following some poor PSG defending as Marquinhos could only clear to Romain Hamouma, who laid it off for Corgnet to crash home.

With PSG shaken, Etienne should have gone two ahead minutes later, but Fabien Lemoine's long-range effort rattled the bar with Salvatore Sirigu beaten, as the home side went into the interval 1-0 up.

Etienne extended their lead in the 51st minute as Hamouma added the home side's second to put them into what seemed like a comfortable position.

However, Lemoine was sent off for a poor challenge, before Edinson Cavani grabbed a goal back for the visiting side to set up a nail-biting finish.

Etienne thought they had scrambled over the line, but for former club favourite Matuidi, whose injury-time cross evaded everyone and ended up in the back of the net to leave the final score at 2-2.
