Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch vows not to leave the club for free, despite his contract expiring in 18 months, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich planning moves.

Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has assured the club he will not leave for free amid links to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

The Dutch international has attracted widespread interest thanks to his performances for the Amsterdam outfit in recent seasons, but with only 18 months left on his current contract, he will be free to discuss pre-contract terms with other sides at the beginning of next year.

However, Gravenberch has insisted that he "cannot" walk out of the door for nothing, telling ADnl: "I don't know if I will leave in the summer. What I do know for sure is that I won't leave Ajax if they don't get anything back. I can't leave on a free transfer. This won't happen," as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Following their capture of French prospect Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes over the summer, Real Madrid are reportedly keen to further strengthen their midfield options, with Gravenberch identified as a possible target.

The Dutchman has turned out 30 times for Ajax so far this season, helping his side to top the Eredivisie and their Champions League group with their round-of-16 meeting with Benfica beginning on Wednesday in Lisbon.

Despite his tender age of 19 years old, Gravenberch has already made 91 appearances for the Amsterdam giants, contributing 10 goals and 11 assists and picking up two Eredivisie titles, while he has also turned out 10 times for the national team.
