Real Madrid 'planning early Martin Odegaard recall'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly keen to have Martin Odegaard, currently on loan at Real Sociedad, as part of his first-team squad next season.

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to recall Martin Odegaard from his loan period at Real Sociedad.

Last summer, Los Blancos agreed for the Norway international to spend the next two campaigns at the Anoeta Stadium, anticipating that they may make major signings during the current transfer window.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has led to club officials and boss Zinedine Zidane needing to reassess the situation.

According to AS, the La Liga champions now want the playmaker to feature in their first-team squad for next season.

The versatile midfielder contributed four goals and six assists for Sociedad from 31 outings during the most recent campaign.

His performances helped Sociedad secure a place in the Europa League via sixth position in Spain's top flight.
