Cristiano Ronaldo trains alone over weekend

Despite being given the weekend off by Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez, Cristiano Ronaldo trained alone at his team's complex on both Saturday and Sunday.

Cristiano Ronaldo trained alone at Real Madrid's training complex despite being given the weekend off by head coach Rafael Benitez.

The 30-year-old has not been involved in the recent international break, with Portugal giving their captain a rest following qualification for Euro 2016.

Ahead of El Clasico, however, Ronaldo was present at his club's training ground on both Saturday and Sunday in a bid to be at full fitness for the clash with Barcelona.

Ronaldo has come under the spotlight in recent weeks, with a departure from the Bernabeu at the end of the current season widely speculated.

The former Manchester United attacker has scored eight La Liga goals for Real Madrid this season, but five of those came in one match.
