Rangers have announced the appointment of Stuart McCall as manager until the end of the season.
The former Motherwell boss was widely expected to take charge of the club following the takeover of Dave King and his consortium.
The businessmen took full control of the board after receiving 85% of the vote from shareholders in last Friday's extraordinary general meeting.
Today, the Scottish outfit confirmed the departure of interim manager Kenny McDowall, who was serving his 12-month notice.
In this afternoon's press conference, McCall told reporters: "It's a big, big challenge - there's no doubt about that, but ultimately it's a massive opportunity. It's an honour and privilege to be invited to come in and help the club at this moment in time."
The 50-year-old, who represented Rangers for seven years during his playing career, has joined the club as manager following a four-year stint as Motherwell boss.
