Carlo Ancelotti hails his team's fighting spirit for their stirring comeback in the 4-4 draw with Lyon at the Stade de Gerland.

Carlo Ancelotti has praised his Paris Saint-Germain team's character after they recovered from 4-2 down to draw with Lyon.

Guillaume Hoarau's last-minute equaliser ensured a share of the points at the Stade de Gerland.

However, the result means that PSG slip to second in Ligue 1 following Montpellier HSC's 1-0 win over Bordeaux.

"It's a good result. Coming back from 4-2 down wasn't easy; we showed a lot of character and personality not to lose our confidence," said the Italian.

"I think it's the right result. We played a good match and I'm satisfied with our performance. We slipped to second but that's not a problem right now. Maybe it will be at the end of the season but we just need to stay confident and play our football.

"We needed to play well in Lyon and we did it against quality opposition."

Ancelotti took control of PSG in December after Antoine Kombouare was sacked.
