Alan Pardew feeling confident ahead of Tottenham Hotspur trip

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew reveals that his players have looked more confident in training ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his side need to build on last week's 1-0 victory against Leicester City.

The victory at St James' Park was Newcastle's first in the Premier League this season, and while revealing that his players have looked more confident in training, Pardew has acknowledged that the club must improve their results.

The 53-year-old told reporters: "I can feel a little bit more confidence in and around the camp but we have to improve results full stop going forward.

"We go to Spurs and have to be disciplined and offer a threat. It's about trying to attack the game and get a win. We went to Spurs last season and put in a fantastic performance. We will go back there with good memories."

Pardew's position at St James' Park appeared to be in danger but one defeat in five games has seen his job become more secure in the last two weeks.
