Younes Belhanda says that he wants to play in a "competitive league" when he leaves Montpellier HSC this summer.

Montpellier HSC midfielder Younes Belhanda has said that he does not want to stay in France when he departs the Stade de la Mosson this summer.

The 23-year-old played a major role in La Pallaide's march to the title last season and has since been the subject of interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are all believed to have sent scouts to monitor his progress over the past year, while a move to Fenerbahce broke down in January.

The Moroccan international said that he would still be open to a move to Turkey, but hinted that he would prefer a move elsewhere.

"I want to play in a competitive league," Sky Sports News quotes Belhanda as saying. "Either in Germany, Spain, England or Italy.

"A top-four side in those leagues would appeal to me. The Turkish league is not bad because there is an improvement there with good players at the moment.

"We will see at the end of the season."

Belhanda scored 10 goals in 30 appearances this season.
