Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to be willing to offer wages of £200,000 per week to tempt Eden Hazard to Stamford Bridge.

European champions Chelsea have reportedly emerged as serious contenders to sign Lille playmaker Eden Hazard.

The 21-year-old Belgium international is expected to leave France in a £35m deal this summer, with Manchester United and Manchester City touted as his most likely suitors.

The Citizens were thought to be leading the race for the player's signature, after Hazard announced that he will be wearing Blue next season.

However, talks have stalled between Hazard's representatives and the Etihad club, and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to outbid the Manchester rivals by offering the player wages of £200,000, according to The Mirror.

Hazard has scored 17 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
