Paul Pogba: 'Manchester United struggles have made me stronger'

Paul Pogba admits that his recent shaky period at Manchester United, which culminated in spells out of the first team, has made him "stronger".

Paul Pogba has admitted that his recent shaky period at Manchester United has made him "stronger".

The midfielder has come under scrutiny this year, with some performances leading to criticism from manager Jose Mourinho as well as spells out of the first team.

However, Pogba has also delivered some impressive displays, including a two-goal haul against Manchester City which led to United securing a 3-2 comeback win at the Etihad Stadium.

"You always want to be at the top every game, to improve every game and I think I am still improving," Pogba told Sky Sports News. "I can still do better. I am not young but I can still improve, learn and get more experience. I will get better and better during the next year.

"[Being dropped] is something that didn't happen in the past, it's not something I'm used to, but everyone has to go through this, it makes you stronger and makes you realise you have to work hard, because anything can happen.

"It's affected me in a good way. When you go through it, you just have to work and keep believing in yourself and respond on the pitch."

Pogba has made 32 appearances this season for United, scoring five goals and registering 12 assists.
