David Moyes hails Robin van Persie

David Moyes is happy with what Robin van Persie has produced since he arrived as manager of Manchester United.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed that he has been impressed with Robin van Persie's attitude since he took charge of the club earlier this summer.

Following his arrival from Arsenal last year, the Dutch striker went on to score 30 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, with Moyes at the helm, Van Persie has carried on where he left off with braces in the Community Shield against Wigan Athletic and last weekend's Premier League opener against Swansea City.

Having now spent a couple of months working closely alongside the 30-year-old, Moyes has been left delighted with what he has seen.

"I have to say, ever since he joined up in Sydney, he's been terrific. We've tried to look after him correctly and do all the right things which he needs to prepare him right," the boss told the club's official website.

"The biggest thing for me is how much he's bought into it with his work ethic. There was a period in the game last weekend when he worked back after about 70 minutes and has done a job for the team. The big thing, for me, is how much of a team player he is being.

"He's in great nick. He looks after himself and had a really good season without injury last year, a clear run that he got good confidence from."

Next up for United is home encounter against Chelsea tomorrow evening.
