Ander Herrera limps off for Manchester United against Liverpool

Ander Herrera is forced off after just 20 minutes of Manchester United's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Ander Herrera has been forced off after just 20 minutes of Manchester United's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

The midfielder went down holding his hamstring less than a quarter of the way into the crunch match at Old Trafford and was swiftly withdrawn by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Herrera was replaced by Andreas Pereira, with Solskjaer preferring the 23-year-old Brazilian to compatriot Fred off the bench.

It proved to be the first of a string of injuries which disrupted the first half of the game, with Juan Mata soon following Herrera off to be replaced by Jesse Lingard, who himself was then withdrawn before the interval.

Liverpool were also forced into an early change shortly after the half-hour mark when Roberto Firmino limped off with what looked like an ankle problem.
