Chris Coleman: 'Emyr Huws deserves Wales chance'

Chris Coleman praises the recent form of Emyr Huws and says that the Manchester City youngster deserves his chance in the Wales senior squad.

Chris Coleman has praised Emyr Huws's recent form on loan at Birmingham City and said that he deserves his chance in the Wales senior squad.

The 20-year-old, whose parent club is Manchester City, earned his first call-up earlier today, and Coleman was full of praise for the midfielder.

"He is a young player who deserves his chance," Coleman told reporters.

"He has done very well through the ranks at Manchester City and now, recently, has really done well on loan at Birmingham City.

"With Aaron Ramsey still being unavailable, it is a good chance to have Emyr with us and show us what he can do in training."

Since joining Birmingham, Huws has completed all five league games for the Blues and has featured in SM's Championship Team of the Week twice.
