Brendan Rodgers confident of Jordan Henderson fitness

Brendan Rodgers reveals that Jordan Henderson should be fit for Sunday's Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Jordan Henderson should be fit for Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Northern Irishman was sweating on the 23-year-old's fitness after a reckless challenge from West Ham United skipper Kevin Nolan last Saturday left him with a badly bruised ankle.

Despite having to wear a protective boot earlier in the week, the England international is in contention for the trip to White Hart Lane.

"Jordan trained on Thursday so we're expecting him to be fine for Sunday," Rodgers told reporters.

"It was just precautionary the last few days. It was a bad challenge that was made on him, but thankfully he's okay."

Henderson has started all 15 league games for the Reds this season.
