Karl-Heinz Riedle backs Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool job

Karl-Heinz Riedle believes that Jurgen Klopp would be a good fit at Liverpool if he becomes their next manager.

Former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund striker Karl-Heinz Riedle has said that Jurgen Klopp would be a good fit for the Reds if he becomes their next manager.

The ex-Dortmund boss has been linked with the manager's role at Liverpool since Brendan Rodgers left on Sunday, with reports stating that the Merseysiders are looking to have the 48-year-old in place by the end of this week.

Riedle feels that Klopp could be the man to improve Liverpool's fortunes in the Premier League.

"I would be very glad if he got the job at Liverpool because I think he is a very good coach. He is right 100% for Liverpool," the German told Sky Sports News. "I was not a player under him but when I spoke to the players they always told me that tactically he is very strong and he is a guy who speaks the same language as the players.

"He brings a lot of enthusiasm to the team, he is very good at motivating at the team and I think the two clubs are both quite similar in terms of the fans and the structures.

"So he knows the atmosphere and he knows how to get the fans behind the team. They are both big clubs and I would say Liverpool is different but Dortmund is one of the biggest clubs after Bayern Munich."

Klopp won two Bundesliga titles, the German Cup and two German Super Cups at Dortmund and led them to the 2013 Champions League final, where they lost to Bayern Munich at Wembley.
