Stefano Pioli: 'Fiorentina game means a lot'

Stefano Pioli says that Lazio are only focused on their own results as they prepare to face rivals Fiorentina in their bid for Champions League football.

Lazio manager Stefano Pioli has talked up the importance of his side's Serie A match with Fiorentina on Monday evening.

The Biancocelesti are currently one point clear of the Viola in the table, with both teams battling for the final Champions League qualifying spot.

"This game means a lot because we are targeting the same objectives and are both going through a good period of form," Pioli told reporters.

"We both like to play attacking football and take the initiative rather than be passive. The Viola are further ahead because this is their third year together.

"The table is tight up there and we have to focus only on our own results. We have 13 games left to do our best."

Lazio have won their previous four Serie A matches and beat Fiorentina 2-0 when the teams met earlier this season.
